Common Proverbs

Every culture has a collection of wise sayings that offer advice about how to live your life. These sayings are called "proverbs".
It's good to know the really common English proverbs because you hear them come up in conversation all the time. Sometimes people say the entire proverb to give advice to a friend. More often, someone will say just part of a proverb like this:
You know what they say: when the going gets tough...
(Read #5 below to learn the rest of this proverb and what it means.)
Learning proverbs can also help you to understand the way that people in English-speaking cultures think about the world.
This is a list of some of the most important and well-known English proverbs. Below each one, there's a simple explanation. Note that some of the meanings of these phrases have shifted over the years, so a proverb might have originally had a different meaning than the one I explain.

INTEGRITY

Integrity: A key component for a successful sustainable organisation

As part of a series of blogs being published over the next few weeks, Dorothy Mackenzie explores how Integrity, the first hallmark of Business is Beautiful, is a key attribute for creating a successful sustainable organization.
Integrity is perhaps the core characteristic of a beautiful business and will lie at the heart of long-term success in a sustainable future. In Business is Beautiful, we define the components of integrity as Purpose, Authenticity, Sacrifice and Committing Openly. Each component has an important role to play in helping an organization develop confidently and with clear direction.
A sense of Purpose
A reason for being (beyond short-term commercial success) is an essential for organizations thinking about the future. It encourages a focus on the benefits that can be offered rather than on the current products, services or production methods. Purpose should clearly set out the difference an organization is trying to make in the world.

Traditional reference points for innovation, such as market trends, competitor analysis or even customer studies are imperfect guides for future opportunities given the unpredictability and interconnectedness of markets and behaviors. Purpose can be an anchor point and a signpost but should also act as an energizer – inspiring people with the desire to achieve something meaningful and worthwhile. Purpose can drive action and urgency: if you have a motivating purpose you want to do what you can to deliver it – now and in the future. Innocent's purpose of making it easy for people to do themselves some good or IBM's aim to build a smarter planet are very different examples of purpose that both guide and excite.

PREPARATION

Preparation is the Key to Success!! Many are in in a Hurry to FAIL!!

Morning Folks!!

If you want to succeed you need to prepare. Preparing usually takes a LOT longer than the actual goal or the actual hunt. Olympians prepare for years for a 50 yard sprint. A race lasting seconds and they prepare for YEARS!! WHY??? Because they want to succeed!

Danny and I WANT TO SUCCEED!!!!

So what you have been seeing is preparation. Not only for the hunted, but for the hunter. You! Understanding why leasing is to your benefit whether you do it via JointVentures.com, yourself or the DOZENS of others that will be offering a leasing service or option.

The entire industry is moving to a lease model because it has been around for a very long time and it works! Ask any top tier domainer. They ALL have leases or have had leases. I have not met any saying they never leased a domain. We are just bringing the model out into the open in a big way. Educating domainers is the first part of all this. So folks can see what we see and why we see it and why NOW??

This is the loading the truck stage to go to market. This is how we prepare not only the end user but the domainer. Maybe it helps folks pick better domains.

Next Friday we will release our entire 2013 domain leasing collection. We do many things each and every day to prepare and move things forward. While others go home we still work. While others sleep we still work. We accomplish many things each day. But we also pace ourselves. So we are 1 full week ahead of schedule. That allows us to prepare on other fronts and do it early.

Each day we accomplish hundreds of tasks. Interview people. We are building a complete infrastructure. But we both need time off and breaks and other outlets.

Domainers are reading this but more importantly end users are coming here more and more each and every day. I bet some will even begin to identify themselves in the months and years ahead. There is nothing I would not say here that I would not say to an end user. That's the definition of transparency.

I have no problem letting a customer know I paid $100 for a domain he will lease for $1000/month. Why? Because who cares?? If that is their focus we won't be doing business anyway. I want smart people that want a domain for their own self interest. That's why it is a winner for all.

So while some may see this as a waste of our time I can tell you it is part of our preparations. It is part of our plan. This is my soapbox and I will tell you that the crowds HERE will grow as folks look for REAL ANSWERS based on a REAL HISTORY. End users ARE reading this. End users are contacting us every day now. We are priming the pump. THIS is how you make something from nothing.

So sit back and watch the 'dance' we are going to do that is going to change the destiny of HUNDREDS and then THOUSANDS! In the next 90 days we will demonstrate what we intend to do. We are building something. It may not be the way you build things, but you are sure as hell going to see how *I* build things.

First you gather the ammo materials. Then you load the ammo into a case. Then you put it in the delivery mechanism. Then you carefully aim. Then you aim some more. Then you pull the trigger. The deed happens in a split second. The prep is what it is all about. Getting it in the right order is what it is all about. Soon all will see what it is all about.

So be patient as we take you on this journey with us. We will all roll into Las Vegas knowing our destiny is owned by US once again!!

PERSEVERANCE

Perseverance is key to Success!!!

Perseverance is an attitude of persisting one single idea, discipline, ideal, rules to achieve success, to achieve a goal- in spite of facing n- number of difficulties, obstructions, hurdles, failures etc.

You have to pass through many difficulties and hurdles but the fruits will be always 100% sweet.

Friends, there are number of examples of great persons who achieved success in their life through perseverance.

VISION

Creating New Realities From Vision - The Key To Success For Any Leader

As senior executives, one of the responsibilities you are charged with can be best described by the quote from Wayne Gretsky, “I go to where the puck is going to be, not where it is.” Any forward-thinking company that wants to stay at the head of the pack needs to imbed this philosophy as the backbone for making all decisions. But what skills are required for an executive to lead by this philosophy, and what are the common traps one is likely to encounter? The first and most important skill is the ability to visualize the end result.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO VISUALIZE?
It all starts with an idea. You know the ideas we get unexpectedly. Like when you walk down the street in a blighted neighborhood and see a building that someday you believe will be valued real estate.  But then your next thought is “Nah, that will never happen,” and you walk away. Twenty years later you happen to drive by that location, and you kick yourself for not acting on your intuition. And then you are completely ticked off when you see your competition doing what you thought about initially but never acted on.

To use vision properly to help create new ideas and improve productivity and market differentiation, you need to start with a clean slate. Forget about what you know the world to be. Simply start writing down your thoughts on where your company and/or department must go. Do not entertain thoughts as to why this cannot happen based on today’s reality. Hold your vision in your conscious mind. As you hold this vision in your conscious thoughts, ideas start to happen, actions become apparent, and you are on the road to creating a new reality.
The key behaviors you must exhibit are the need to trust your instincts, believe in your vision, and to be okay with the fact you don’t have the answers initially. Many people stop because they don’t have the answers. Leadership is about creating a vision first for solving problems and then going about finding the answers and implementation.
It all starts with vision. What is your vision today? Are you capturing it? Don’t worry about not having the answers. They will come if you are committed to it and hold it in your conscious thoughts at all times. This is what successful leaders do.

PASSION

Being passionate about what you do is the key not only to being more successful in your work, but also to feel happy. If you are interested in your work and you enjoy doing it, you are more likely to work harder and achieve success. You are also much more likely to feel like you are achieving something and to feel satisfied with your working life.
Too many people ignore their passions and feel that work is something necessary and unavoidable. They begin their work reluctantly and rush to get it done. It doesn’t have to be like this. If you are truly passionate about your work, you will be looking forward to your working day when you wake up in the morning and you will approach your work with a completely different attitude. Rather than forcing yourself to do something that you hate, you will be able to enjoy doing your job. At the end of the day, you will feel more satisfaction than exhaustion. You will be happy.
When you are happy with your work, you will be more productive. You will spend much more time working rather than procrastinating and you will work harder because you are enjoying what you are doing and you will want to achieve as much as you can. As well as being more productive and successful, you will also feel much happier about your work. In addition to your actual success in terms of measurable productivity and achievement, you will be better able to perceive your success. When you achieve something in a job you hate, you will not feel as satisfied, proud and successful as you do when you achieve something in a job that you love.
Passion and job satisfaction is the key to success in any field. You can enjoy the success that passion brings by choosing a job in an area about which you feel passionate or by encouraging and developing your passion for your current job.
Many people see passion in their working life as a luxury, but it can be easier to find your passion than it may seem. If you are interested in finding a career that you can feel passionate about, you need to explore your own personality, working habits and preferences. You need to be in touch with yourself and your emotions to understand what type of work you would love to do.
In the field of domain investment, passion can help you to put in the time that is needed to explore the market, to find out which domains are most valuable, to manage your domains and to market and sell them. If you are passionate about searching for a valuable product, understanding how the internet works and predicting trends, or about selling, then domain may be the career for you.
Doing what you love will lead you to success and to the perception of success. You will achieve more and you will feel happier and more satisfied with the work that you have accomplished.
